Others like Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Eddie Guerrero, Owen and Bret Hart are prime examples of next generation wrestlers who reach the very top of the industry. The one thing they have in common is that they are all men.
This side of the millennium, though, things have begun to change.
There are now a number of legends whose daughters have followed in their footsteps and making waves in the wrestling world.
Some are already at the mountain top, while others are just beginning their journey.
Charlotte Flair (daughter of Ric Flair)
Woooo! The Nature Boy Ric Flair is a 16-time world champion and virtually a dead-cert on anyone's Mt. Rushmore.
Well, his daughter Charlotte is already a 12-time world champion in WWE and was one of the women in the first-ever female main event of WrestleMania.
Charlotte is undeniably one of the best performers in the world today, whatever the gender, and at least in WWE's eyes is the standard bearer of the women's division.

Mya Lesnar (daughter of Brock Lesnar)
The Beast Incarnate is one of the biggest box office sensations in modern day WWE and has had a unique career as a true prize fighter.
His daughter, Mya Lesnar, is 18 years old and is the sixth best shot putter in all of America.
Seems like she has inherited her dad's freakish athletic genes! While there's no word on if she'll move into wrestling or fighting one day, she's clearly athletically gifted.
You can certainly tell Brock and Mya Lesnar are related!
Simone Johnson (daughter of The Rock)
Simone Johnson reported to the WWE Performance Center in 2020 but a knee injury halted her initial progress with the company.
She's yet to debut but at just 19, she has plenty of time. Knee surgery late last year kept her on the sidelines, but Simone is now at the top of her classes in many workouts and making an impression in the gym.
Much like her dad, the 10-time world champion, The Rock. He's arguably the biggest star the business has ever seen and one of the most famous people in the world today, period. She has big shoes to fill no doubt.

Aalyah Gutierrez (daughter of Rey Mysterio)
Rey Mysterio is probably the greatest high-flyer in the history of professional wrestling, certainly the most known.
He has just won the tag team titles with his 24 year old son Dominik, but his 19 year old daughter Aalyah has been on WWE TV too.
While she has not wrestled, she was involved in a love angle with Murphy. Rey told talkSPORT Aalyah has medical studies to finish, but she may well end up in WWE.

Natalya (daughter of Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart)
Nattie is one of the backbones of the women's evolution in WWE. The Canadian made her main roster debut in 2008 and has gone on to become a two-time world champion and is one-half of the current Women's Tag Team champions.
Her father was Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart, a WWE Hall of Famer and former two-time tag team champion with her uncle, Bret Hart (Neidhart had married Bret's sister).
The Anvil sadly passed away in 2018 but was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame a year later, and by his daughter.

Tamina Snuka (daughter of Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka)
Tamina made her debut in WWE in 2010 and only recently did she win her first-ever title in the company - alongside fellow second-generation star Natalya as the Women's Tag Team champions.
Her father is beloved for his Superfly Splash from the top of the cage in Madison Square Garden against Don Muraco back in 1983.
Snuka was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame class in 1996 and Tamina, now 40, is still very active in the company.
